- Waiting for the Krishna water,
- Is becoming a laughing matter,
- After a decade of wait,
- A few years from date,
- Can perhaps benefit my grand-daughter.
- I shall try to cheer up the folks of the city,
- By being humorous,, jocular and witty,
- But with the water shortage,
- And the stagnant sewage,
- One may get lost in the nitty-gritty.
- The city is missing its women's laughter,
- Their gossiping and incessant chatter,
- That folksy dance,
- To the clapping of hands,
- All forgotten, waiting for Metro Water!
- You need not be a soothsayer,
- But a man with civic sense and care,
- To say that the city of Madras,
- With all the problem it has,
- Needs to be managed by a full time Mayor.
