CIVIC WOES OF CHENNAI ( MADRAS)

Waiting for the Krishna water,
Is becoming a laughing matter,
After a decade of wait,
A few years from date,
Can perhaps benefit my grand-daughter.

I shall try to cheer up the folks of the city,
By being humorous,, jocular and witty,
But with the water shortage,
And the stagnant sewage,
One may get lost in the nitty-gritty.

The city is missing its women's laughter,
Their gossiping and incessant chatter,
That folksy dance,
To the clapping of hands,
All forgotten, waiting for Metro Water!

You need not be a soothsayer,
But a man with civic sense and care,
To say that the city of Madras,
With all the problem it has,
Needs to be managed by a full time Mayor.
